Guided Duck and Goose hunting in central Kansas

At Sandhill Flyway, every hunt is all-inclusive — guides, lodging, three chef-prepared meals a day, and we clean every bird for you, all for $2,500 per hunter. We hunt the heart of the Central Flyway near Hutchinson, Kansas, from the opener in early November through the close of the late-January duck season.

Duck Hunting

The duck season runs right alongside the geese — a variety of birds early, then big mallards working into small farm ponds as December settles in. Ducks close for the first eighteen days of January, then reopen for one final week of field duck hunting that's become one of the most sought-after stretches of our whole season. The daily limit is six ducks.

Goose Hunting

November is our specklebelly month. We hold some of the highest concentrations of specks anywhere on the flyway, and it's the stretch of season that sets us apart. As the calendar turns, lesser Canadas build into larger numbers through December, and the snow geese arrive in force come January, when the birds are at their most vulnerable. Limits run to six Canadas, two specklebellies, and fifty snow geese.

December — our most sought-after month: larger numbers of lessers, specks still here, snow geese arriving, big mallards on the ponds.
January — snow geese and lesser Canadas hunted hard; ducks and specks reopen the final week for an exceptional run of field duck hunting.
